April Currently & First Friday Favorites Link Up

It's the first Friday of the month, which means it's time for the third edition of the First Friday Favorites link up. Yes, it should be the fourth, but last month got away from me in the midst of some life stuff, so here we are. Each month will always include a favorite read, favorite find, and favorite quote, then whatever my little heart finds happy. Join in with any favorites in your world right now (you can follow the prompts, or simply share a favorite blog post- whatever your heart desires). I am also linking up with Jennifer, who now hosts the monthly Currently roundup.

Starting things off with what I am currently loving by sharing the First Friday Favorites this month.

First Friday Favorites

Favorite Amazon Find | Calm Magnesium Powder

Calm Magnesium powder has been part of my nightly routine for the past month. I have actually had this same canister for a while now, but just recently got into using it more consistently. Magnesium powder has been great for adding to a nightly mocktail and has helped me sleep better (and go better, if you catch my drift)! I currently have the raspberry lemon flavor and really like it, but plan to try watermelon next. The stuff lasts FOREVER though, so it'll probably be awhile before I get to try the next one. I highly recommend it for winding down at the end of the day!

Favorite Read This Month

So, I actually FINALLY got a couple new videos up over on my new YouTube channel and this month I shared a favorite author spotlight. I LOVE Kristin Hannah books! The video review includes the first book that got me started on her as an author- Magic Hour (sooooo good), one of my old favorites that I need to reread- True Colors, and my least favorite of hers- Fly Away (still worth a read). My absolute favorite Kristin Hannah book though (that left me sobbing) is by far The Nightingale. It recently got picked up as a Reese's Book of the Month and I am so glad, because it now means so many more people will read it.

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah Synopsis

France, 1939 - In the quiet village of Carriveau, Vianne Mauriac says goodbye to her husband, Antoine, as he heads for the Front. She doesn't believe that the Nazis will invade France … but invade they do, in droves of marching soldiers, in caravans of trucks and tanks, in planes that fill the skies and drop bombs upon the innocent. When a German captain requisitions Vianne's home, she and her daughter must live with the enemy or lose everything. Without food or money or hope, as danger escalates all around them, she is forced to make one impossible choice after another to keep her family alive.

Vianne's sister, Isabelle, is a rebellious eighteen-year-old girl, searching for purpose with all the reckless passion of youth. While thousands of Parisians march into the unknown terrors of war, she meets Gäetan, a partisan who believes the French can fight the Nazis from within France, and she falls in love as only the young can … completely. But when he betrays her, Isabelle joins the Resistance and never looks back, risking her life time and again to save others.

With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France―a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Favorite Quote of the Month

I actually didn't save too many quotes this month. I have honestly been trying to stay off of IG, but this one really stuck with me. I also have a few really good ones from some of the books I am reading, but we're currently traveling and I left my quote book at home, so those will have to wait. This quote from Brianna Wiest really hit my enneagram 7 self right in the feels. I am working on being at peace with where are right now- back in a house without wheels, not traveling full-time. Reminding myself that simple is beautiful too and that there is joy in the little moments of each daily routine is something that I need to be better at and this quote helped!

The Rest of April Currently

I am actually hoping and praying some big things for both myself and a friend this month. I can't go into any detail really, but whether you are the praying kind or the hoping kind, if you are reading this and wouldn't mind taking a minute to send the vibes for peace, strength, and positivity I would greatly appreciate it!

To get our junk room cleaned out!! We have "only" been in the house for a year and one room in our house is basically a Monica closet, just chalk full of boxes that still need to be sorted through. I need to start slowly working through them so that the room can actually become a functional one!

Both grateful and slightly out of sorts! We have a lot of changes coming up. Good changes; new job stuff and a few other things, but changes all the same and that always makes me feel a bit wonky. In between jobs though we have been able to steal away for two weeks in the camper and I am BEYOND grateful for some time back on the road with my Babe!

And that's it for this month's First Friday Favorites!! What are some of your April faves?! Join in on the fun and link up below!
