May Currently & a Giveaway

Happy May!
Spring finally seems to be here.
Being from Florida I am pretty much used to just about one season, but now that we are traveling full-time it has been so strange to experience this thing people call winter!
Linking up for a May Currently! Here is a peek at our world right now:

{Celebrating} Adding a new state to our count; HELLO, UTAH!! And checking a big one off the bucket list... a post about our time at the Grand Canyon coming soon...

{Creating} A YouTube video from our time in Mesa Verde. I am running a bit behind this week and it's not up in time for Road Talk Tuesday, but you can catch last week's adventure in Grand Junction, Colorado! It was an awesome week filled with great hikes and yummy wine...

We are so close to hitting 500 subs!! Will you be number 500?! We would love your support as we try to grow this little space!!

5 on Friday & Giveaway Fun!

Happy Friday Friends!!
We've been bouncing around right and left the past few weeks, so I feel like I would play a little catch up around here with some Five on Friday randomness!
Here's a little peek at what's been going on around here lately...

Telluride Scenery

We're LOVING ColoRADo!!

If you read last week's post, then you know we are currently in Colorado. The scenery out here is incredible!! We are currently at an RV park near Mesa Verde National Park. Unfortunately, the cell service out here can be hit or miss. Since we work on the road we have had to be very careful about where we stay. We found a park that claimed to have decent cell reception and wifi; however, that ended up not being the case and we had to quickly move parks. Our current view is a car wash, so while it isn't a winning view, we are at least able to work (which keeps gas in the truck, so ultimately I guess it is a win). We are going back into the national park this morning to do a tour of the cliff dwellings and we are pretty pumped!! We will share more about Mesa Verde NP soon, but for now our number one tip would be to make sure you plan at least two days if you are going to visit. The tour tickets for the day can run out really early. We were in the park by 11 on Wednesday (during off-season) and there were no tickets left. Thankfully we were staying, but there were others who were pretty bummed because they were only there for the day. You can still see the cliff dwellings without a tour ticket, but you can only go into them with a ticket and guide (cost is $5 per person).

Spring Skiing at Steamboat Springs Resort and Old Town Hot Springs

Spring in Steamboat Springs, Colorado!

We've been in Colorado for about two weeks now and are LOVING it! When a friend gifted us with free lift tickets to Steamboat we booked it northwest just as quick as we could! We are now further east (almost to Utah) in a town called Grand Junction and are enjoying the warmer days and gorgeous, other worldly (at least for these Florida-natives) hikes. We will be sharing those soon, but Steamboat Springs can't be passed up. Here's why we loved spring in Steamboat Springs so much...
Spring Skiing at Steamboat Springs Resort

Steamboat Springs Is Easily Accessible

This was the first time driving hauling Delilah the Dream Machine up really high inclines, so we were very grateful that it's pretty easy to get into Steamboat from I-70! The resort was also so gracious and allowed us to park in their lot overnight, when we found out we wouldn't be able to stay at the state park we were planning on. This is not customary and probably won't work during busy season, but it never hurts to call and ask. We pulled into their overflow late after the runs were closed on Sunday, were able to walk to the gondola that took us to the top of the mountain to ski Monday, and we're gone once the slopes closed at the end of the day.

6 Hours in St. Louis || Things to Do in St. Louis Missouri

Happy Friday!! I'm just over here singing...
"Meet me in St. Louis, Loius, meet me at the fair;
don't tell me the lights are shining any place but there."
Anyone else's mom sing this to them as a lullaby?! No, just me?
Honestly, I have never seen the movie it came from, but I love Judy Garland so maybe I should. Anywho...

We had plans to head south through New Orleans and Texas, making a slow journey to Colorado. However, we decided to head to Colorado earlier than planned, to try get in some spring skiing, and started booking it west with the quickest route we could find. This route happen to lead us right through St. Louis and we were able to spend a day exploring the "Gateway to the West"! More accurately we were able to spend just 6 hours exploring it! We were staying at a state park about 45 minutes away from downtown St. Louis, and because we teach in the mornings, we weren't able to leave the camper until just before noon.

We had originally only planned for two definite stops; the Gateway Arch and then do the Anheuser Busch Brewery tour and were going to spend the rest of our time stumbling across different spots and enjoying a long lunch somewhere. Well, that plan quickly changed when someone reminded us about the City Museum. So instead, we skipped lunch and crammed as much as we could into our 6 hour window.

5 Reasons Cracker Barrel is a Full-Time RVers Boondocking Bestie

We did it!!
We earned our boondocking in a parking lot badge!
Ok, so as far as I know there are no actual full-time RV life badges, but there should be.

Anyways, we spent this past Sunday night parked in a Cracker Barrel parking lot overnight and absolutely loved it!! I know what you might be thinking, "but, it's just a parking lot!" To me it is so much more. One, our night in the Cracker Barrel parking lot was our first night boondocking in Delilah the Dream Machine; two, the ambiance was actually perfect for a wonderful night's sleep. Here are 5 reasons we think boondocking at Cracker Barrel is an amazing component to full-time RV life....

Cracker Barrel: The Bed and Breakfast for RVers

We actually ate two different meals at this specific Cracker Barrel. We pulled into the lot, after a long day of driving, and went in to grab dinner before tucking in for the night. We also made sure to introduce ourselves to the manager, just to let staff know we would be staying overnight. The staff was so hospitable and accommodating. The next morning, we woke up and went back in for a huge breakfast to fuel us for the next 6 hour leg of our trip out West. Cracker Barrel now offers specialty coffee beverages and we loved adding a little oomph to our coffee game with a caramel and mocha latte.

Full-Time RV Life: The Sad Truth || #TravelTuesday Travel Link Up

Happy #TravelTuesday!!
Travel Blogger Link Up
I know, I know, but it's Thursday... 4 pm on Thursday.
Well, y'all... life! Thanks for giving me some grace!
Have fun travels to share? Adventures in your own backyard?
Add them to the link up at the bottom of this post!

This month's link up is a few days behind, because we have been crazy busy trying to pack up again and get on the road. We even gave ourselves an extra week in Orlando and it still wasn't enough time to get caught up with everyone! I have not had a minute to sit down and work on a post and probably should have just saved this one for today, but I wasn't really planning ahead, and then all of a sudden Tuesday came... and went. I did manage to get our Road Talk Tuesday video finished, so today that's all I really have to share.

Full-Time RV Life || Nashville, Providence Canyon, and Micanopy

I feel like I have been saying this so often, but yet again we have been a little MIA around the blog. We returned to Florida for a wedding in St. Augustine last weekend and, because we were so close to Orlando, we made plans to come back and catch up with friends and family before hitting the road again. We were only planning to stay for a week, but there was so much to fit in (and soooo much laundry to get done) that we have ended up staying for two. We've been busy running errands, placing Amazon orders, and catching up with everyone that we have neglected to do much updating around these parts. I have a few minutes between the chaos today to play catch-up, so I figured I would share a little bit about the last few spots we hit up before rolling back into Orlando...

Our Self-Planned Nassau Lighthouse Excursion || #TravelTuesday Travel Blogger Link Up

Happy Travel Tuesday!!
It's time for another link up, so be sure to head to the bottom of this post and add your adventures, to the blue "add your link" button, so that we can travel together!

We are loving our time in the mountains right now, but this cold weather has us seriously missing some sun and sand!! I figured to fight off the chill I should finally get around to posting about our last cruise to the Bahamas. Cruising is one of our absolute favorite ways to travel! We pack up all the essentials, board the boat, and then it's smooth sailing, as we head from one tropical destination to another! We usually try to book cruises heading to places we have never been and since almost every ship we have ever been on makes a stop in the Bahamas, that's usually a day that we won't leave the boat; opting to enjoy a deserted ship to ourselves.

Nassau Excursion to Hog Island Lighthouse

However, if you have ever sailed through Nassau, then you know that the tip of the island (as you are entering or leaving the harbor) has an abandoned lighthouse and a long stretch of gorgeous sand that just looks so inviting. Each time we would sail away, we would watch the lighthouse (Hog Island Lighthouse) get smaller and smaller and talk about how "one of these times" we were going to make it over there to explore! We finally decided that this specific trip was going to be that moment; the only challenge now was how to get over there?

Life's Sweet Journey Life Lately

Happy February friends!
Hoping all is well in your world!
It's the beginning of a new month, and we've been a little quiet on the blog, so I figured it's the perfect time for a little "Life Currently" update. Here is what February is currently looking like for us...

{Finishing} We just finished our new Road Talk Tuesday video and it is now live over on YouTube. We have had a few questions about what we do on the road, so we answered those questions this week. We both teach English online, while we work on hopefully growing this space into part of our income on the road. Head over to YouTube to catch the new video and subscribe!

{Subscribing} Now that we are spending so much time in the car we are trying to jump on the Podcast Train! We really haven't listened to very many and are trying to find some that we can enjoy together! We have been listening to other travel couples share their stories on To the Nations Worldwide podcast and are excited to be one of the couples on there soon!Share your faves! What podcasts should we be subscribing to?

Full-Time RV Life || Staying Connected and Happy on the Road

Happy Thursday!
If you follow our adventures on social media, or have watched this weeks Road Talk episode, then you know it's been one crazy week on the road!

From our first tire blow out, to no cell service at the campground we were staying at (we teach English online and have to be connected), only to get stuck the mug on the way to our next location, it's definitely been a week of on-the-go learning experiences for us. I figured I would share some tips and tricks we learned that might help you avoid making some of the mistake we made! So here are...

Our Asheville Brewery Tour

Happy Thursday!
This week it's been all about Asheville here on the blog and we kicked it off with some amazingly yummy food! Today's it is all about the boozy side of Asheville... come join us for our Asheville Brewery Tour!

Asheville Brewery Tour

Babe and I have birthdays just two days apart, which we actually find pretty fun, because it means double the celebrating! We spent my birthday checking something off my bucket list (seeing the Biltmore at Christmas) and we spent his doing our own Asheville brewery tour . Asheville's brewery scene is hopping (pun intended)! There is practically a brewery on every corner. We chose five that were in pretty good proximity to each other and made a day out of it!

Biscuit Head || The Best Breakfast {and Lunch} in Asheville, NC

Happy, happy Monday!
Cheers to a new week!

We are currently set-up at a park in Alabama, visiting a sweet friend of mine who just had a baby! I love that this RV life allows us the freedom to visit for a lot longer than we would have been able to otherwise.

This week, on the blog, we are sharing all about our time in Asheville! And what better way to kick off exploring somewhere new than with a good meal?! Seriously, y'all! Asheville has some amazing food, but what took the cake for us was Biscuit Head! BEST. BISCUITS. EVER!!

Hello 2018!! Our January Currently

Hello January and
HELLO 2018!!
Life's Sweet Journey

We've been a little quite around these parts; trying to really soak up the holidays and time with family, but are excited to jump back into the swing of things and share all that we've been up to. Our weekly Road Talk videos will resume next Tuesday, along with some more blog posts about our time in Asheville, but until then I can't think of a better way to kick off the new year than with a little January Currently fun! Here is what we've been up to so far this year:

{Starting} To really get used to seeing all these gorgeous mountain sunsets! We have had one beautiful color display every night for the last two weeks and I am not one bit sad about it!

{Hoping} That Delilah (our camper) has no frozen/ burst pipes or any damage from the freezing temperatures we've had while we have been in Tennessee. She has been parked down in the woods, at the base of my mom's property, while we are enjoying the warmth of the house. We are keeping a space heater set on low and have been checking on her everyday, but we won't really know if there were any issues until we get back on the road. Prayers are very welcome!

{Scheduling} The next few months on the road! We know we are heading back to Orlando, for a wedding in March, but until then we are are kind of flying by the seat of our pants. We have general destinations, but no actual spots booked. When you plan to be set in one spot for the first three months, only to have those plans fall through, it really throws you for a loop. But hey, I guess that's what we signed up for when we took the leap into full-time RV life! #Bringiton!

{Reading} I've actually been able to finish quite a few books these past couple weeks! My most recent being Lone Wolf by Jodi Picoult. Not one of her favorites of mine, but if you enjoy books with a strong animal focus it's a very interesting read.  We are currently listening to Queen of the Tearling anytime we're the road to our next destination and really enjoying it! I have also been reading the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone to my niece before bed all week and been LOVING every minute of that time together!

{Playing} With my sweet niece! The hardest thing about being on the road has been being apart from family. It was especially hard not being with them for the holidays. We already knew we would see my parents the week of New Years, at my mom's mountain house in Tennessee, but we got the bonus treat of one of my nieces being able to come too! My sis-in-love had to work all week and with my niece being out of school, and us missing her like CRAZY, my parents decided to bring her with them to "the Blue House". My heart was in absolute heaven!!
