Life Lately || Goodbye Full-Time RV Life and Hello Crimson House

Welp, it has officially been over 2 months since I last posted and A LOT had changed! So I figured no better time to jump back into the swing of things than with a Currently post all tied together with a 5 on Friday! If you follow along on IG then you know we are no longer traveling full-time; we are still in the RV for now while we figure out our next steps, but here is what life is looking like around these parts....

{STARTING} The next chapter in our journey! We actually arrived back in Florida a little over a month ago and it has been a whirlwind. I tried to jump right into things, thinking "just conquer the change head on and roll with", but I took a much longer break than planned, because I finally realized I needed time to just digest everything, reset and figure out what this new normal will look like. We haven't got it all figured out just yet, but isn't that the fun of it?! For someone who doesn't do well with change I have definitely brought a lot into our lives lately.

The video goes more in detail about what's happening now, but we are currently back in Florida (about an hour east of where we started), in New Smyrna Beach. We have partnered with my aunt on a venture she started here and are currently renovating an old home and converting it into a wine bar. You can follow along over at Crimson House NSB for all the updates!!

{BUYING} New bathing suits for me and tons of towels and sheet sets for Crimson House! The wine bar still isn't open (hopefully by mid November), but the upstairs apartment is finished and functioning as an AirBNB. I have either become OCD now that I have to pay attention to how clean things are or white just stains super quickly!! Any tips for getting stains out of white towels?! I've tried bleach, I've tried Shout... HELP!!

{READING} ALL THE THINGS! The clubhouse at my moms condo has tons of great books left by people who are finished with them. I found The Good Daughter and The Obsession and read both within about two weeks; both were pretty intense, but great if you like psychological thrillers! The Obsession actually really surprised me, because I don't typically read Nora Roberts, but it was really good! I have not only jumped back into the book club I was in before we left Orlando, but also joined my mom's book club here at the beach... our current reads: Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine and Into the Water. I am having a hard time getting into Eleanor, but am super excited to start Into The Water!! What are you reading?! I am always looking for another great book!

{RECORDING} Not much right now, because I have so many already recorded videos that need to be edited. I am working on getting the last two months of road life videos put together. Once we decided we were coming home I stopped working on putting together videos, so that we could really immerse ourselves in the last few months on the road. Needless to say, it means there is a lot of catch I will be doing in the next month or so.

{SHARING} My new hopes for life now that we are back in Florida! Babe and I have gotten a lot better at sharing what's on our hearts with each other and we are trying to continue that now that we are settled. It is a really strange feeling to live out a dream and find that it didn't really fit. I am so glad we did it, because we would have always been wondering "what it", but when you throw so much of your life into something new, just to have it not be what you expected it can be a little disheartening. I worried that I failed Babe in someway, by encouraging him to take this leap with me and then it not work out. However, it led us to this brand new dream; one that I don't think we would have ever really even considered had we not left to go on the road. We had a comfortable life before hitting the road and I think it took thrusting ourselves into the unknown to lead us to where we are now. My hope going forward is that Crimson House becomes something that we can really build together, alongside my aunt. My hope is that is gives us the freedom to create something new and fun that can grow with us through whatever life may bring next. We learned so much about ourselves both individual and as a couple, while we were on the road, and I pray that we can take that knowledge and grow from everything we experienced. It's a scary feeling, the unknown, but it's exciting too... here's to the journey!!

What is life like for you lately?!
Any big hopes and dreams as you wrap up 2018?

  2. I'm reading Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine right now too. It took a bit for me to get into it, but I'm about halfway through now and I like it a lot more. Into the Water is definitely on my to-read list!

  3. Currently I'm reading Jennifer Armentrout, not sure if it's your genre though, but I'm low key obsessed with her (I've read about 18 books of her) I can't wait to read Into The Water, I loved The Girl On the Train

  6. Wow, one adventure to the next - turning an old home into a wine bar sounds so COOL! I loved Into the Water, and I definitely think you should give Eleanor Oliphant a chance. She takes a little while to warm up to as a character, but if you keep going, you'll get there! It's a great book.

    1. That's what people keep telling me! I am trying to just skim through the first couple chapters so I can get a little more into the book. I hate not finishing a book once I start it.

  7. This is awesome! My husband and I are looking into converting a van for travels, but we weren't sure we'd be able to commit to full-time either. We'll see!! Good luck on your new adventure!

    1. Thank you! Yes, the full-time aspect was harder than we expected. We loved the travel, but if we ever do go out again it will probably only be in 3-6 month stretches, then we will come back to Florida for a bit and fill up on time with our friends and fam!
