Visiting Crescent City California and Battery Point Lighthouse

Happy #TravelTuesday Adventurers!
For the first time in what feels like forever I am sharing more of our time on the road and getting back  my monthly travel link up- so be sure to add any of your own recent adventures at the bottom of the post. Today I'm heading back clear across the US to our time along the California cost... most of the fun is in the video, but here is what we did and where we stayed!

RVing The California Coast

We entered into California and headed straight for Redwood National Park. While we didn't have time to do the full park, we started at the northern tip near Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park.
We spent the day exploring and hiking through the massive trees, before heading to Crescent City. I wish we had planned for more time in Redwood National Park itself, because it was a whole new world and is truly magical. We definitely plan to be back!

What to do in Crescent City, California

We spent the majority of our time visiting California in Crescent City; a quaint little seaside town!

Where We Stayed: Sunset Harbor RV Park
We ended up really liking this park, because of its proximity to the pier and restaurants. The park doesn't have a ton of amenities, but the wifi was strong and we were a bike ride away from the ocean and great restaurants. We found the daily rate at Sunset Harbor RV Park so reasonable compared to other parks in Crescent City (using our Good Sam's membership) that we ended up adding 4 more days to get some work done since their wifi connection was so good.

Where to Eat:
SeaQuake Brewing- a great brewery with yummy chowder and good beer; they had corn hole set up outside and even a fun corner for kiddos if you are coming with family.
North Coast Grill- a great grill with beautiful views of the water; North Coast Grill was just a short bike ride away from Sunset Harbor RV park and is also right next to the sea lions and seals!

What to Do:
Battery Point Lighthouse- We loved our visit to this beautiful lighthouse; it is run by volunteers who actually live at the lighthouse for a few months at a time. We tried to do this our first day in Crescent City and even though the website states they were open from 10-4, due to the fact that the lighthouse sits on a small island it is only accessible at low tide. To better determine the tide times for when you will visit you will want to call the lighthouse or go to the site the day before you actually plan to visit. They have a tide chart posted in the parking lot which will tell you the visiting hours for that specific week.
Visit the Tide Pools- Being from Florida we aren't used to the beauty of the tide pools and the rugged cliffs of the west coast. We spent a full day just driving from beach to beach, searching for different sea life in the tide pools!

We loved our time in California and hope to go back and explore more!
And now I want to see all the beautiful places you've been visiting...
